Edith "Bruce" Doherty

JENNINGS Funeral services for Mrs. Edith “Bruce” Brewster Nims Doherty, 94, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 9, 2010 in St. Lukes Episcopal Church with Rev. Kathleen Doherty-Ogea officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings. Funeral home visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. today, Friday and 8:00 a.m. Saturday until time of services. Mrs. Doherty died at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, January 6, 2010 in the Jennings American Legion Hospital. Mrs. Doherty was a 64 year resident of Jennings and a homemaker. She was a board member of Carnegie Public Library, member of St. Lukes Episcopal Church, active member of the Parent/Teacher Organization and active member of both Girl and Boy Scouting Organizations. Survivors include two daughters, Kathleen L. Doherty-Ogea and husband Herman, Janice Doherty Benoit and husband Larry both of Jennings; one son, Glenn F. Doherty and his wife Debby of Raceland, LA and one brother-in-law Dolan Doherty of Evangeline; four grandchildren, Chris, Nathan, Rick and Ellisa; four great-grandchildren, Autumn, Collin, C.J. and Riley.
