Earl Olmsted

August 6, 1951 — July 10, 2025

Earl Olmsted, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2025. Born on August 6, 1951, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, Earl grew up in a close-knit family and carried that love forward into his own life.

Earl made a living as a tanker truck driver in the transportation industry, known for his strong work ethic and reliability on the road. But outside of work, he was a man of simple pleasures-he loved the outdoors, spending his free time hunting, fishing, trapping, and oystering, enjoying every moment spent in nature. He was a big man with a teddy bear heart, known for his kindness and generosity. He was deeply devoted to his family; he cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren.

Left to carry on his legacy is his beloved wife of 53 years, Betty Olmsted, and took immense pride in his sons, Daniel Olmsted and Joshua Olmsted. His love extended to his grandchildrenJustin, Reagan, Jordan, and Rylie Olmsted-and his great-grandchildren, Justin Olmsted, Jaxxer Olmsted, Josie SantaAna, Shiloh SantaAna and Annie Simmons, who all brought him so much joy; and his siblings: his sister, Charlotte Parker; his brother, Roland Olmsted; and his sister, Cathy (Willard) Israel.

Earl's family was everything to him, and he always made sure they knew how much he loved them.

The family of Mr. Earl has chosen to honor his wishes of cremation under he direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Philander and Carmel Olmsted; and a great granddaughter, Charlie.
