Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Jane Sonnier Gary, 80, of Jennings will be held Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Susil Fernando officiating. Burial will follow in St. Anthony Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 22, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 6:00 p.m. It will resume Wednesday at 8:00 a.m. until time of service.

Mrs. Gary was a native of Lowery and lived here all of her life. She was a high school graduate. She chose to be a homemaker because she loved to sew, bake and cook. Keeping her children in line was a big part of her life as well. She was a member of the Ladies Altar Society, Catholic Daughters and a very faithful member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She faithfully prayed her rosary every day.

Mrs. Gary is survived by her children, Roxanna (Friend Jimmy Connor)Looney of Mermentau; Sharon (Gary)LeBlanc of Welsh; Donna (Earl)Thibodeaux of Jennings; Darren (Gwen)Gary of Roanoke; Brian (Fiancé Brenda Cooper)Gary of Moss Bluff; Mark (Tiffany)Gary of Denham Springs; daughter-in-law Brenda Gary of Lake Arthur; fourteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert “Bobby” Gary and her son Dwain Gary; sister, Evelyn Sonnier; brother, Warren “Buddy”Sonnier and her parents, Wallace “Goone”Sonnier and Hazel Vincent Sonnier.
