Dianna Celestine Shuff

December 27, 1952 – October 24, 2018

Dianna was a loving sister, mother and grandmother. She entered into eternal rest, peacefully, Wednesday morning, October 24, 2018, in her home, surrounded by her family.

Dianna was a proud Coushatta Tribal member and lifelong resident of Elton, LA. She enjoyed creating her beautiful Native American long-leaf pine needle baskets and sewing her handmade quilts. She loved spending time with her family and friends, listening to music and watching live bands; she especially enjoyed playing at the casino.

She is survived by her loving husband of 28 years, David Butts of Elton; three daughters, Sara and husband Bernard Sawyer of Kinder, Kara and husband Brad Martin of Kinder, Jacquelyn Shuff and fiancé Joey Smith of Elton; one brother, Carlton and wife Linda Celestine of Elton; 8 grandchildren, Blake Albritton, Caleb Briscoe, Mallory Briscoe, Briley Martin, Madelyn Brown, Bella Sawyer, Judd Smith, Jackson Smith; and 1 great grandchild, Jaxson Briscoe.

She is preceded in death by her husband Charles Wayne Shuff; father, Gus Celestine Jr.; her mother, Madeline Robinson Celestine; her brothers, Sammy Celestine and Michael Celestine; and nephew, Brooks Celestine.

A celebration of her life will begin at 10:00am until the time of Memorial Services, which will begin at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 26, 2018, in the Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings.
