Diann Manuel

July 30, 1945 — June 7, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Diann Manuel, just shy of her 80th birthday. Diann was born on July 30, 1945, in Jennings, Louisiana, and she departed from this world peacefully on June 7, 2025, after a life filled with love and service.

Diann dedicated 32 years of her life to the financial stewardship of the United States Government, serving as a Federal Payroll Officer at Fort Polk Army Base. Her commitment to her work reflected her attention to detail and her unwavering dedication to supporting the soldiers and their families.

From a young age, Diann demonstrated remarkable poise and grace, exemplified when she was chosen at just 11 years old to represent Acadiana and present a cookbook to President John F. Kennedy-a moment that would sparkle in her memories for the rest of her life. Family was at the heart of Diann's world. Diann was known for her warmth, generosity, and the countless ways she expressed her love for everyone she knew.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Diann was a devoted member of the Lady's Alter Society, where she made thousands of rosaries, sharing her faith and compassion with those in need across the globe. Her artistic talents shone through in her crocheting, and she found joy in participating in five bowling leagues, where she avidly played.

A gathering of family and friends will take place on Tuesday June 10, 2025, in the funeral home chapel, from 3:30 PM until 8:00 PM. A rosary will be held on Tuesday at 6:00 PM in the chapel.

A funeral service to celebrate Diann's life will be held at Miguez Funeral Home on Wednesday June 11, 2025, at 10:00 AM. She will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family, her brothers Ricky (Amy) Manuel, George (Suzanne) Manuel, and her sister Nanette Alcock; thirteen nieces and nephews; numerous great nieces and nephews; her special friends who took special care of her for many years, Talitha Lewing and Cathy Legg; and a host of extended family and friends who deeply loved her and will carry her memory forever.

Diann was preceded in death by her parents, Daley and Adille Manuel; her brother-in-law, Gene Alcock; and her sister, Linda Manuel.

Diann leaves behind a legacy of kindness, faith, and cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

Carrying her to her final place of rest will be, Darren Alcock, Dakota Cary, Riki Manuel, Caleb Manuel, Peyton Vidrine, and Brett Alcock. Honorary pallbearer will be Dwayne Alcock.
