A Mass of Christian Burial for Derick James LeGros, 31, will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, October 21, 2019 in the St. Jules Catholic Church with Rev. Charles McMillin officiating.

Burial will be in the Reed Cemetery in T-Mamou under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings.

Mr. LeGros passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2019 in San Antonio, Texas.

Funeral home visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Sunday; and 8:00 a.m. Monday until time of services.  A rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home chapel.

He was a lifelong resident of the T-Mamou area and a high school graduate.  He was an instrument technician in the oil and gas industry.  Things he loved were hunting and LSU football.  He was a very caring person who loved to joke around and have fun with his family and friends.  He was a friend to everyone he met; he knew no strangers.  Derick was also incredibly smart and was a jack of all trades. He was a great uncle, son, brother and father. 

Survivors include his son, Daxton LeGros; his parents, Donald and Rhonda Hebert LeGros; his two sisters, Jillian (Chad) Gaspard and Erin LeGros of Basile; his brother Dylan LeGros also of Basile; maternal grandparents, Robert and Marlene Guillory Hebert; paternal grandmother, Alice Broussard LeGros; six nieces and nephews, Rhylie, Morgan, Eli, Addyson, Rowan and Jackson.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents; Placide “Pete” and Alice Vincent LeGros.
