Dennis "Deno" Crochet

Funeral services for Mr. Dennis “Deno” Wayne Crochet, 57, of Jennings, will be held on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. in St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Hathaway with Rev. William Miller officiating.

Burial will follow in St. Lawrence Community Cemetery in Hathaway under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Visitation for Deno will begin at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at Miguez Funeral Home from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.  It will resume at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 14 at 8:00 a.m. and continue until time to leave for the church.

A rosary will be recited by Deacon Mike Tramel on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m.

Deno was a lifelong resident of the Hathaway Community. He was a farmer, with crops of rice, crawfish and cattle. He was a dedicated and devoted husband and father; whose family was always foremost in his mind and plans. He loved fishing, hunting, working his cows and family gatherings. He was a wonderful friend to his community always putting others before himself. Deno will be sorely missed by all who were honored to meet him.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 31 years, Alice Degeyter Crochet; two sons, Jordan (Courtney Broussard and Quinn) and Jacob (Caraline McFarlain) Crochet, both of Hathaway; mother, Delia Marie Babineux Crochet; mother-in-law, Anita Ellender Degeyter; sisters, Linda Manuel, Brenda (Lamuel) Trahan and Debbie Manuel, all of Jennings and Bernice (Thomas) Clement of Hathaway; brothers, Roderick (Sandy) Crochet and Shane (Katina) Crochet, both of Hathaway; his godchildren, Holly Guillory, Jessica Nixon, Chelsey Ogeron and Kenny Chaisson.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Bert; father-in-law, Max Degeyter; two nephews, Brent and Norman Clement; and his niece Evelyn Clement.

Pallbearers will be Roderick Crochet, Chad Hill, Alan Hebert, Trent Gary, Chris Marshall and Rayford Fontenot.

Honorary pallbearers will be Kenny Chaisson, Ricky and Gabe Crochet.
