David Franklin Lewis III

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David Franklin Lewis III, a beloved father, brother, and friend, who left us peacefully at the age of 59. Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, David lived a life filled with hard work and dedication. He proudly served in the U.S. Army, showing the same commitment in his career as a plasterer. He took great pride in his work and was known for his strong work ethic and willingness to lend a helping hand.

David was known for his fierce love for his family. He is survived by his daughter, Anna Lewis; his sons, Tyler and Andrew Lewis; his brothers, Dwayne "Steve" Lewis and Charles Trahan; and his sisters, Tina Comeaux, Sundra Trahan, Moondra Bramlet and Kayla Trahan. David's warmth and hardworking spirit touched the lives of many, and he will be deeply missed.

David was preceded in death by his parents, David Lewis and Anna Vincent; his sister, Martha Lewis; and brothers, Preston Lewis and Demery Trahan.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday July 8, 2026, at Miguez Funeral Home in Lake Arthur, from 9:30 AM until the time of the service at 1:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Francis Plaisance officiating. He will be laid to rest at Shell Beach Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

David leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and devotion to family and friends that will live on in our hearts forever.
