Cleveland Paul Guidry, a beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away on September 18, 2026, at the age of 78 in Jennings, Louisiana. Born on June 28, 1948, in Jennings, Cleveland was well-known for his hard work as a welder and was a shining example of dedication and commitment.

Cleveland was married to his loving wife, Bernadine, for 35 wonderful years, and together they created a beautiful family. He is survived by his daughters Sonya Trahan and Shanna Guidry Fontenot, his step daughter Ashley (Jeffrey) Ardoin and his sons Garrett (Allie Aucoin) Guidry, Kegan (Brandi) Guidry, and Shannon (Tina) Guidry.

Cleveland had a passion for the outdoors, often spending his days fishing and hunting. He loved nothing more than gathering with friends at Hobo's for a strong cup of coffee and good conversation. A true family man at heart, he loved spending time with his loved ones, especially when it involved caring for the elders by cutting their grass or simply sharing stories. Cleveland also had a flair for sports cars and took great pride in them, showing off his latest projects with a grin.

He is also survived by his grandchildren, Blaze LaFosse, Aby LaFosse, Hunter Young, Mason Guidry, Kinsley Guidry, Owen Guidry, Corbin Guidry, Elisabeth Guidry, Leigha Young, Meagan Joseph, Nikki Young, Colby Fritz, and one on the way; his great-grandchildren, Kaden Richard, Sidney Richard, Raidon Young, Jolee Richard, Mikaela Joseph, Macy Joseph, Malaysia Joseph; and his great-great grandchildren, Margaret LaFosse and Kayvon Richard.

A gathering of friends and family will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at Miguez Funeral Home in Jennings, LA. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 PM in the chapel. Visitation will resume on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at the funeral home from 8:00 AM until the time to depart to church for mass at 9:30 AM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Jennings, LA, with Father Aubrey Guilbeau officiating. He will be raid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Garrett Guidry, Kegan Guidry, Hunter Young, Blaze LaFosse, Kenny Byrd, Jay Byrd, Michael Gary, and Shane Guidry. Honorary pallbearers will be Corbin Guidry, Mason Guidry, Owen Guidry, Milton Bouley, Tommy Byrd, and David Byrd,

Cleveland was preceded in death by his parents, Martin Guidry and Mary Lebert Guidry, his sister, Margie Byrd, brothers, Luther Guidry, and Nolan Guidry, and his dear niece, Kristen Gary.
