It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Christopher "Chris" Scott Skrantz, who left this world peacefully on October 7, 2025, at the age of 49. Born on September 3, 1976, in Jennings, Louisiana, Chris lived a life filled with love, adventure, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys of existence.
Chris was a proud member of the Lake Arthur Boat Club, where he spent countless weekends enjoying the great outdoors, hunting, and fishing. His spirit was deeply tied to nature, which he cherished as much as he cherished his family. As a devoted member of the Living Word Assembly of God Church, he embodied kindness and faith, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. For over 25 years, Chris dedicated his life to the oil field, where his work ethic and commitment earned him the respect and admiration of his friends and colleagues. Above all, he was a family man. He cherished every moment he could with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his cherished wife of 32 years, Angie Skrantz; his mother, Linda Skrantz; and his cherished children: Katelynn Daigle (Aaron), Christian Doucet (Lane), and Joshua Skrantz. He was also a proud grandfather to Noah, JuJu, Luke, Waylon, Nolan, and Stetson. He is also survived by his sister, Heather Skrantz, and brother, Kevin Skrantz.
Visitation will be held on Saturday October 11, 2025, from 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM, in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel in Lake Arthur, LA. A funeral service to honor his life will be held in the chapel at 12:00 PM, with Pastor Robert Kratzer officiating.
He will be laid to rest in Andrus Cove Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.
Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance, sharing stories and celebrating the legacy of a man whose laughter and love touched so many.
Christopher was preceded in death by his father, Dale Skrantz; grandson, Mason; his Nanny Bea, maternal grandparents, Audrey and Jules Murray; paternal grandfather, Emery Skrantz; and an uncle, Donald Murray.
