Chester James Boudreaux of Hathaway, LA , born November 20, 1949 to Myrdie Rose Roche of Lake Arthur, LA and Justin Antoine Boudreaux of Church Point, LA, died Thursday, July 14th, 2022 in the comfort of his home.
Raised by his grandparents, Hubertie and Amanda Boudreaux of Welsh, LA, Chester attended Eastwood Elementary and graduated from Marion High School both in Lake Charles, LA. He finished his academic career at McNeese State University with a Bachelor of Science degree going on to teach business at the Delta School of Business in Lake Charles, LA. Married on August 19, 1972, to Terry Donna Ledger of Sulphur, LA, they made their home in Lake Charles, LA for a few years, then moved to Woodlawn, LA wherein life-long friends that they called family were made, finally settling in Hathaway, LA. His first career was with General Tire of Lake Charles, LA as an accountant and office manager advancing quickly and traveling to their multiple locations as the transition from paper to computers was in its inception. He then went on to become an operator at PPG followed by co-owning Superior Glass Company in Lake Charles, LA, with his brother David Boudreaux. In the late 90’s he went to work for Lowe’s doing cabinet installs and finishing work which was his true passion. He was a master carpenter tackling everything from remodels to detailed one-of-a-kind projects. His creativity and skill can be admired in both his and his son Matthew’s home along with various homes in Southwest Louisiana, reminding them daily of his talents.
Chester and Terry raised two boys, Michael Sean Myers and Matthew Brian Boudreaux of Welsh, LA. He was a proud and loving grandfather to Matthew and Kristi Boudreaux’s two boys, Briggs Brian and Cooper Ray Boudreaux.
When you met Chester, you knew what you were getting. He was honest, loved to pick and had a heart of gold. He would help a stranger just as easily as a friend and once you were a friend, you were family. He loved horses, trail rides, country music, square dancing and anything sweet to eat that he could get his hands on. His love of talking and visiting with friends was exceeded only by his love of watching John Wayne movies, unless of course, you wanted to talk about John Wayne movies.
Chester is survived by his loving wife, Terry Donna Boudreaux, son Matthew and daughter-in -law, Kristi Boudreaux and their two boys Briggs and Cooper Boudreaux along with his brother David Boudreaux and wife Deborah Boudreaux and two sisters. He is preceded in death by his parents and his son Michael Sean Myers.
The family would like to thank the compassionate staff of Louisiana Hospice and Palliative Care for their services and support during our time of need. If anything can be said about this difficult time, it brought out the best in our family, friends and the St. Lawrence Catholic Church community. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to a cancer research center focused on finding a cure for glioblastoma, in Chester’s honor.
