Charles Deveral Savoy

March 16, 1947 — February 28, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Charles Deveral Savoy, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who left us peacefully on February 28, 2026, at the age of 78. Born on March 16, 1947, in Basile, Louisiana, Charles lived a life full of passion, dedication, and love. He made Jennings, LA his home where he built lasting memories.

Charles began his career as a teacher for five years, then began working in the oil and gas industry for 42 years where he eventually earned the title of Environmental Safety Manager, but his true passions extended far beyond his career. A champion horseshoe player, he traveled the states competing, showcasing his talents and forming friendships along the way. He found joy in the great outdoors, whether it was hunting, cutting grass, woodworking in his beloved shop, or working with leather. His spirit of adventure led him on numerous cruises and travels, making memories with those he cherished.

A proud Eagle Scout, Charles carried a sense of duty and service with him throughout his life. His involvement with the OLI family, where he enjoyed substituting as a teacher, brought him immense joy. He was also a member of the ACTS retreat and the Knights of Columbus of Jennings, where he made countless friends and contributed to his community.

Charles is survived by his devoted wife of 28 years, Dee Dee Savoy; his daughters, Tricia (Casey) Williamson and Kristie Deville; son Tommy (Amy) Gaspard; daughter-in-law Sherrell Savoy; brother Greg Savoy; grandchildren, Tanner (Kadie) Habetz, Keileigh (Cutter) Tonn, Jenna Savoy, Matthew Savoy, Dylan (Tori) Daigle, Gavin Deville, Kelsey Gaspard, Anna Katherine (Blaise) Richard, Brooke (Mitchell) Smith, Jared (Chaney) Gaspard, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
