Charles Wayne Hebert

November 21, 1952 — February 24, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of Charles Wayne Hebert, who left this world on February 24, 2026, at the age of 73. Born on November 21, 1952, in Crowley, LA, Wayne spent his life in Jennings.

Wayne was a dedicated tooling engineer in the manufacturing industry where he worked for Capital Manufacture for 45 plus years, but his true passions extended far beyond his work. He loved spending time outdoors, whether it was duck hunting, deer hunting, fishing, or camping. Music also played a significant role in his life; he enjoyed jamming with his friends in the band Wayne Hebert and the Hathaway Playboys, where he loved to play the accordion. He recorded three records which he was very proud of. Known for his sense of humor and his skill in the kitchen, he never failed to brighten a room.

Family was everything to Wayne. He is survived by his loving spouse of 35 years, Sharon Hebert, his son Blake (Amanda) Hebert, and his daughter Kate (Lex) Duplechin. He cherished his grandchildren, Kayden Hebert and Declan Duplechin, who brought him immense joy. He also has a great granddaughter on the way. He also leaves behind his brothers Garland (Polly) Hebert and Gary (Julie) Hebert, his sisters Faye Gary and Karen Pesina, along with his sister-in-law Judy Hebert, all of whom will miss him dearly.

In honor of Wayne's life and the love he shared with so many, a funeral service will be held at Miguez Funeral Home on February 26, 2026, at 6:30 PM. Prior to the service, a public viewing will be open to friends and family starting at 3:30 PM until 8:00 PM. A rosary will take place at 4:30 PM, providing an opportunity for reflection and remembrance.

Wayne will be cremated following the service under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home. He will be inurned at Greenwood Cemetery following his cremation.

As we say goodbye to a remarkable man, we take comfort in knowing his laughter and his devotion to family will live on in our hearts.

Wayne was preceded in death by: his parents, Hubert and Lena Crochet Hebert, his brother and hunting partner, Virgil Hebert, and his brother in law, Leroy Gary.
