Burl James Esthay

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Burl James Esthay, affectionately known as BJ, on October 5, 2026, in Jennings, Louisiana. Born on September 16, 1947, in Crowley, Louisiana, BJ led a life full of love, laughter, and hard work as a dedicated contractor.

BJ spent most of his life in Colorado, where he made countless friends and left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He proudly served in the Navy, showcasing his dedication to his country. His family meant the world to him, and he cherished every moment spent with them.

He is survived by his daughter, Mary Williams; grandson, Ethan (Halley) Williams; and great-grandson, Atom Williams, and sisters, Jackie (Preston) LeBlanc and Vina (John) Rice. He will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

A memorial service will be held in BJ's honor at the Southwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery on October 9, 2026 at 12:30 PM. Friends and family are invited to join us as we celebrate his life and the impact he had on those around him.

Burl was preceded in death by his parents, Hilary and Carrie Breaux Esthay, and his dear daughter, Amber Jolie Esthay.
