Barbara Dale Gay

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Barbara Dale Gay, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, who left us peacefully on August 7, 2026, at the age of 85. Born on April 17, 1941, in Jennings, Louisiana.

Barbara was a dedicated cafeteria manager, where she shared her love for cooking by preparing delicious meals not just for her family but also for countless students. She had a knack for making every meal a heartwarming experience. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing clothes for her children, finding joy in creating something special for them. Barbara was also a passionate fan of gambling at the casino and loved filling her evenings with the thrill of bingo, always bringing her trademark enthusiasm wherever she went.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Regina Miller; her sons, Ricky (Peggy) Broussard and Steven Gay; her grandchildren, Codey Broussard, Ashley Broussard, Kelly (William) Lanigin, and Devin Gay; 8 great grandchildren, and 5 great great-grandchildren. Each of them carries a piece of her legacy in their hearts.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, August 10, 2026, at Miguez Funeral Home in Jennings, LA, from 9:00 AM until the time of service. Funeral services will be held on the same day at 2:00 PM in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel, with Father Keith Pellerin officiating. She will be laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the amazing staff at Camelot Brookside, especially Ms. Kallie and Ms. Leslie, for their incredible care, as well as LAMM Hospice, whose support was invaluable during this time.

Barbara's spirit, love, and laughter will be dearly missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Daigle and Rose Cormier Daigle; and her brothers, Douglas, Gerald, Tom, Russell, and Charles Daigle.
