A.L. Reed, III

The family of Arba "A.L." Lewis Reed, III, announces his passing on July 17, 2026, at the age of 71.

A.L. was born in Jennings, Louisiana, on December 10, 1954. He was a true hard worker, committing himself wholeheartedly to his endeavors while balancing his devotion to family. He found profound joy in spoiling his children and grandchildren, always eager to create cherished memories with them. He was a member of Christ's Church in Jennings, where he enjoyed his friendships and shared his faith with others.

Left to cherish their memories of him are his beloved wife of 49 years, Valerie Reed; his children, Andy Reed, Kristi Reed, Holly Reed (Chad Kendall), and Tanner Reed; his siblings, Keith (Leslie) Reed, Carla Demeritt and Margie (Doug) Veuleman; grandchildren, Morgan (Alix) Schexneider, Hunner LeBlanc, Laynee LeBlanc, Alexander "Lex" Istre, Seth Reed, Dakota Dupre, Paisley Dupree, Gage "Charlie" Reed and Elise Reed; great grandchildren, Lennon Guthrie, Cohen Schexneider and Rowan Pelsia; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family and friends that will forever cherish their memories of A.L.

He was preceded in death by his parents, A.L. Reed, Jr. and Mildred Bellard Reed; and a grandson, Evan Chase Reed.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday July 20, 2026, at Miguez Funeral Home in Jennings, from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Visitation will resume the following morning at 8:00 AM, at Christ's Church in Jennings, LA, until the time of service at 10:30 AM, in the church. He will be laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Carrying him to his final place of rest will be Seth Reed, Lex Istre, Dakota Dupre, Bryan Benoit, Robbie LeJeune, Shawn Demeritt, Charlie Reed, and Tanner Reed. Honorary Pallbearers will be Steve Reed and Jason Reed.
