Anthony "Tony" Fontenot

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Anthony "Tony" James Fontenot, who departed this life on September 23, 2026, at the age of 56. Born on June 3, 1970, in Jennings, Louisiana, Tony was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend.

He leaves behind a legacy of love and fond memories, particularly those created while spending time with his family. A man of simple pleasures, Tony enjoyed barbecuing in his yard, crafting his special BBQ sauce, and passionately cheering for his favorite football teams. He was a hard-working man, working in the oil field most of his life, always providing for his family.

Tony is survived by his cherished daughter, Amber Fontenot (Trenton Mott); son, Nicholas Fontenot; sisters, Bridget Fontenot and Angie (Michael) Ewing; brothers, Robin (Marie) Fruge and Timothy Fruge; grandchildren, Emersyn and Salem Mott; nieces, Bethany Levine, Candace Ewing, Casey Fontenot, Hannah Ewing, Remi Fruge and Reggie Fruge; and a host of extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nelson Fontenot and Betty Fruge Fontenot.

The family has chosen to honor Tony's wishes of cremation under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

A memorial gathering to celebrate Tony's life will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2026, from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM, in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests for donations to be made in honor of Anthony "Tony" Fontenot, to the American Cancer Society or M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston, Texas.
