Annie Lee Bertrand

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Annie Lee Bertrand, who left us peacefully on July 15, 2026, at the age of 84. Born on April 26, 1942, in Kaplan, Louisiana, Annie spent her life as a devoted homemaker, cherishing her family as her greatest treasure.

Annie was a spirited and loving individual. She had a passion for gathering her loved ones around her, and she found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was known for her love of the casino, where she enjoyed the thrill of the game and the laughter shared with friends. Above all, her unwavering faith shined brightly in her daily routine, as she faithfully watched Mass each day, staying connected to her spiritual roots as a member of Our Lake of the Lake Catholic Church.

Annie is survived by her loving sons, Dwayne (Priscilla) Royer and Mark Royer; devoted daughter, Karen Royer; and brother, Preston Bertrand. She will be remembered fondly by her grandchildren: Jake, Kim, Kris, Derek, and Toshya, who were the light of her life.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday July 16, 2026 at Miguez Funeral Home in Lake Arthur, from 9:00 AM until the time of the rosary. A rosary will be held at 1:15 PM in the chapel, following the rosary her service will begin with Deacon Mike Tramel officiating. Annie will be laid to rest in St. Anthony Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Annie's vivacious spirit and love for her family will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered.

Annie was preceded in death by her parents Merruce Bertrand and Blanche Dugas Bertrand, and her brother, Myrle Bertrand.
