Funeral services for Mrs. Alta May Benoit Reed, 55, will be held at 10:00 Friday, July 15, 2016 in the Miguez Funeral Home with Rev. Charles McMillin officiating.

Burial will be in the Millerville Cemetery.

Funeral home visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Thursday; and 8:00 a.m. Friday until time of services.

A rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel.

Mrs. Reed died at 4:06 p.m., Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at her residence in Welsh.

Mrs. Reed was a lifelong resident of Welsh and a homemaker. She loved to clean and be with her grandchildren and being a parent. She also loved going to the casino.

Survivors include her husband, Wayne Reed; one daughter, Tammy Reed and husband David of Welsh; one son, Don Reed and wife Dawn of Welsh; one brother, Roy Benoit of Oberlin, LA; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Horace and Ida Mendoz Benoit; two sisters, Laura Guidry and Elvina Boulet, and one brother, Ray Benoit.
